    Ever tried finding a simple PHP email contact script that actually works and that you don't have to be a rocket surgeon to install? I went through the process myself, all I wanted was something basic as you see in the screenshot below, for people to contact me from my website. Searching for something suitable was great fun, a second career, I must have gone through a dozen failed attempts and wasted countless hours. Who the heck has time for that? There were lots of free scripts around and admittedly some of them are pretty darned good but just try getting a question answered or a little bit of help if you need it from a free script download site. The next thing you know they want you to upgrade to an expensive membership or some high end product. There seemed to be nothing in between free and expensive so I got annoyed and put together my own package. I wanted a sound and simple concept, easy to understand installation instructions, professional looking, good security and best of all only $4 (four) which includes a bit of support and help if you need it.

    I took my script to the local college and had the geniuses down there give it the once over. They thought that the script itself was well written, the concept well conceived and then suggested that I used the script as a sales lead into an expensive membership or some high end product. . . Pinheads!

This script was written for Linux web servers using Apache and specifically for cPanel users. It works however on all Unix/Linux web servers using Apache. Testing has shown us that it works on most web server platforms with the exception being a handful of Windows web servers (depending on their configuration) where it does not work. If you are on a Windows web server without Apache it is likely that you should be looking at an ASP application for your email contact form.

The reason I charge $4 is very simple; the idea is that anyone buying this script that may need some help gettting it installed will get that help. The reality is that most people do not need any help at all because the installation directions are very straightforward and the script itself is not overly complicated. But some folks do need help and the $4 accumulating from all script purchasers allows some time to be invested by us in basic support. If you don't like this arrangement, hey don't let me have you part with $4 bucks, go spend a few hours piddling around with a free contact script but when you have a question . . . ? You will see what happens. Also know that there are no backlinks or ads in this script. You get 6 files in the download package. One is an information file, one is the installation directions and 4 files comprise the Basic Contact Form. The 4 remaining files are: the form as seen in the image below, a success/thank you page (both written in HTML), an index.html page (used as gatekeeper for the script directory) and the PHP script itself. It is called "Basic" for a reason, there is no email validation or challenge system. The script was designed to be easy to install and to hide your email address from spam harvestors. The image you see below is a screen shot of what the contact form looks like to the user when you get it but of course the look and colors can be changed, or it can be integrated into another web page.
