About this Freeware Directory

Gomers Freelist Web Directory began as a popular ebook back in 2005. As the project grew, the need for a more effective means of updating and adding links became apparent, it became a web directory in 2006. We invite anyone who may know about something free and useful to website authors to add a link to this directory. All submissions must be software or an online utility that is free, please see the submission guidelines below.

A message to spamming idiots

This is a human edited directory, all submissions are subject to review. We will receive your URL in text format and rely on the description you provide to determine if your submission is spam or not. Spam is immediately deleted so think about that before you waste your time and ours with a submission that is not pertinent to this directory.

Submission Guidelines

First let us define what the word "free" means; This is a freeware directory, free means free to use with no hidden costs, obligations or expiry dates. It does not mean "free trial" or free items included with a purchase or membership. The only exception we ever make is to offer shareware when no free alternatives exist.

  • We will place your submission in the most appropriate category or sub-category
  • Please be certain that you are linking to an item that you can legally give away for free
  • All items linked to in this directory must pertain to website authoring or be useful to website authors
  • Link submissions must be to a descriptive webpage, no direct download links will be accepted.
  • We reserve the right to decline any link submission if we feel it is inappropriate for this directory
  • Please don't waste your time or ours with spam
